How can i stop lazygit from opening new buffer in a tab?

If I have the buffer already opened, then pressing e on the file in lazy git will focus on that buffer.
Though, if the buffer is not opened lazygit creates a new neovim tab inside which the file is opened.

How can I prevent this behavior?
