I’m encountering a very annoying bug:

At least provide a minimal reproducible example.

As far as I understand, kv is a snacks.nvim utility module that creates a store using a file and uses LuaJIT internal API under the hood (a performant alternative to the default Lua interpreter). I guess the require('string.buffer').decode function expects a string encoded earlier with require('string.buffer').encode, but for some reason, it receives something else. Windows-specific line endings may be involved.

string.buffer depends on the LuaJIT version that Neovim is built with. So, it might have to do with your Neovim version. What does nvim --version show?

This looks like mine. No idea why this happens. Can't repro. But I also don't have Windows, just Linux. So maybe that's the difference.

Well, there was a warning in checkhealth about health’s runtime, I deleted .local/share/nvim and reinstalled and now it works. So you were right saying my nvim was broken :)
