Is snacks.image compatible with Windows?

I am trying to use snacks.image on Windows 11 with a recent build of Wezterm. I have magick installed and it is available on the Windows path properly. When I run :checkhealth Snacks, it tells me that magick is not available.

Checking the code I see the following in \snacks.nvim\image\init.lua on lines 302-305

  local is_win = jit.os:find("Windows")
  if not Snacks.health.have_tool({ "magick", not is_win and "convert" or nil }) then
      Snacks.health.error("`magick` is required to convert images. Only PNG files will be displayed.")
  end

Does anyone know what compatibility issues there are on Windows?

I didn’t notice before, but on Windows, there should be no convert:

not is_win and "convert" or nil

Try doing the same thing, but with magick:

:lua vim.system({ 'magick', '--version' }, {}, function (out) vim.print(out.stdout) end)

Also, remove magick and try to install it using winget:

winget install ImageMagick.ImageMagick

Note

Make sure it available in a terminal outside of Neovim.

Snacks.image almost works in Wezterm on Windows. My image is displayed in the preview of Snacks.picker.files just like this:

after noticing that Snacks.image.langs() did not return anything, i overwrote that function and now i do get a window pop when the cursor is on top of an image path, the window even scales with the image it is supposed to display, however the image itself does not appear.

current image config is the following, though i suspect that these are forced when using wezterm anyways

if i understand correctly, the behaviour above should be float, not inline
inline to my understanding is that the image just shows in the document and float should still be available?
if not, what would be the expected flow for what is supported (the non-inline variant)
opening the image file via nvim directly also doesn't render it

is wezterm nightly required? i think the version i'm using is not quite as bleeding edge
