How to make image preview work with tmux

Hi, I was wondering if you know how to get the image preview working inside tmux. It works in zsh (ghostty term emulator) but when I open tmux it stops working. Yazi Image previewing works inside tmux, but not snacks.

Any ideas?

just tested myself and works in tmux.
Are you viewing images on a remote machine? If so, that's currently not supported.
I use local transport for the image data.

Yeah, same issue for me. I can open the file to view the image but cannot see preview from pickers inside tmux.

Just pushed a major update to image support that now uses kitty's unicode placeholder images.

For the people where it still doesn't work, please let me know what terminal you're using.
Image support also requires true colors to be enabled in both neovim and tmux.

Should be fixed now. Reason it worked for me initially is because I had already viewed the images without tmux, so in that case, the images were already known by the terminal.

With my latest fixes this should now work ootb

It no longer works with tmux. It says terminal not supported and lists the supported one. @folke

$TERM_PROGRAM is tmux
terminal is kitty

Note that it used to work like 3 hours ago with this setup.

Why is you TERM tmux-256color instead of xterm-kitty?

Just added a force option, but I strongly suggest you fix your TERM, since that will for sure give other issues not related to snacks.
