Is there a way to load a plugin on opening a buffer with a specific filename ?

I'm installing cmp and I'm interesting in the [npm-cmp](https://github.com/David-Kunz/cmp-npm) extension.
However, I am not very satisfied with the lazy loading event they picked in their README.
The plugin is loaded on opening any JSON file, but to be honest, that seems excessive to me.
I manipulate JSON and JSONC files on a near-daily basis, but I open a package.json to edit it manually once every full moon.

So, the question is: Is there any lazy loading mechanism (or hack) enabling me to match the basename package.jon in order to only have the plugin activated when I really want it to be ?
