Has the default clipboard been set to + in an update?

Whatever I delete or yank in vim is getting copied to the '+' clipboard. Is this a new setting? Because I haven't changed my config in a while but this has started happening.

why should this be related to lazy.nvim?

lazy does not set any options.

@bryant-the-coder also seems to be facing this problem. I tried using neovim -u None & vim but didn't face that problem. Also checked my config, there isn't much but it's clean either ways. How should I go about solving this problem?
