Global variable set in init.vim not found on vimscript plugin

With other plugin managers (I usedvim-plug and packer.nvim), this was working. But not working with lazy.nvim. Probably because of how lazy.nvim loads plugins. Just wanted to confirm if this is expected or not...

My init.vim requires config lua file (which in turn sets up lazy.nvim):

And below that g:fzf_command_prefix variable is set:

fzf.vim used to be able to access that variable with other plugin managers.

But with lazy.nvim looks like fzf.vim is sourced before that variable is being defined.

Is this expected?

Your plugins will al be loaded once lazy returns, so you should set those options BEFORE loading lazy, or set them inside the init() function fot fzf
