How to install plugins manually and make them recognized

I can manually git clone a plugin but installation inside lazy.nvim will time out. I don't know how to explain that, and if that works, I don't bother to care. The funniest part is that if I git clone plugins in the right directory, lazy.nvim will destroy them and try to re-install. Any suggestion is appreciated!
