Roadmap
Since Siempo was officially removed from the Play Store, rebrand and publish the app so others can use it. This will help attract contributors and give others the chance to get immediate value from us while we make below changes.
Make it much easier / slicker to set up Focus Launcher, with ready-to-go standard profiles and a step-by-step onboarding process
Make it quick & easy for users to give us direct feedback from the app - particularly during onboarding (when we lose a lot of potential users)
Very minimal user analytics to figure out what is causing users problems or triggering them to uninstall the app; data will be retained for a very shot period of time and never used for ads
Overhaul of the UI/UX of Focus Launcher to ensure it feels slick and not 'clunky' - this is particularly important for new users who do not yet see the full value of the app. A few ideas for starters:
- customize or redesign primary color
- simplify menu designs and settings toggles
Browsers can be positive and negative apps; we should provide features that allow users to block time-wasting sites much like they can do with apps
The batch notifications feature (AKA Tempo) has always been clunky & buggy. Redesign them according to Android's latest notification API updates and make them more reliable
The growing curtain/square that appears when using a restricted app is also clunky. Implement a better way to achieve functionality (eg fade out)
Everything else has focused on removing things from the phone, but nudges and interventions could be a simple first step in using your phone as a tool that helps you do the things you want to do
