I am also new to Flet, but your question is somehow similar to what I am going to do.
according to the official tutorial:

Page is a container for View controls.
A page instance and the root view are automatically created when a new user session started.

We could use page.controls.pop() to remove everything on the top most page. For example:

import flet as ft

def main(page):
    def clicked(e):
        page.controls.pop()
        new_task_2 = ft.Text(value="This is new Hello World", width=300)
        page.add(ft.Column([new_task_2, ft.ElevatedButton("Click Again", on_click=clicked)]))
        page.update()

    new_task = ft.Text(value="Hello World", width=300)
    page.add(ft.Column([new_task, ft.ElevatedButton("Click", on_click=clicked)]))

ft.app(target=main)

Or we could create a Row, and delete the Container in that Row when you want to:

import flet as ft

def main(page):
    def clicked(e):
        a_row.controls.remove(a_container)
        a_button.disabled = True
        page.update()

    a_container = ft.Container(
        content=ft.Text(value="Hello World", width=300),
        bgcolor=ft.colors.YELLOW,
        padding=5,
    )
    a_row = ft.Row(controls=[a_container, ])
    a_button = ft.ElevatedButton("Click", on_click=clicked)
    page.add(a_row, a_button)

ft.app(target=main)

Or we could use pop() instead of remove():

import flet as ft

def main(page):
    def clicked(e):
        a_row.controls.pop()
        a_button.disabled = True
        page.update()

    a_row = ft.Row(controls=[
        ft.Container(
            content=ft.Text(value="Hello World", width=300),
            bgcolor=ft.colors.YELLOW,
            padding=5,
        )
    ])
    a_button = ft.ElevatedButton("Click", on_click=clicked)
    page.add(a_row, a_button)
