I'm not sure if I agree.

Sure it's convenient to just execute a script, but the steps are executed extremely rarely. It's a lot of time to write a robust script with error handling and such.

More importantly, different machines might have different requirements. E.g. for my work computer I'd definitely want to double check every single step, and sometimes go with a different solution.
