Ytdl with Wavesurfer?

Hi everyone, hoping to get some help integrating ytdl with wavesurfer - long story short, I'd like to build a chrome extension to display the audio waveform of a video beneath it on YouTube, and having some trouble getting a usable output from ytdl into wavesurfer. Much appreciated!
