What are the optimal image settings for each e-ink display type?

I am reading through the giant discussion about display quality. Lots of opinions, lots of experimentation. Is there a consensus about the optimal settings for each device?

Specifically, I am wondering about my device Inky Impression 7.3” (version PIM667, the edition before the 2025 edition). Do these recommendations exist somewhere?

And P.S. Do I need to reboot the RPi every time I make a change to the image settings?

The discussion in #111 is mostly related to the newer 2015 displays.

For OP, I've been using my pre-2025 7-color display without any of the image settings since I feel like the default looks good as is, but you can play around with them. Also, you don't have to reboot the Pi when you make changes to the image settings.

In case anyone is looking, after trying several variations, I've found the following settings to be optimal for clarity and punchyness:
