Dealing with new seasons after requesting a series

Hello everyone,

this could also be a Sonarr topic, but I wanted to give some input here. At the moment, if you don't request the whole series, new seasons added to the series are still downloaded by Sonarr because the series is set to “All Seasons” and not “No new Seasons”. Since I only like to request the first season of a series and only request new seasons if necessary, it sometimes happens that not only the first season is available but also the current season if the series has not yet been completed. This is not quite the behavior I would expect. Can you relate to this and is there already a workaround for my situation?

I don't understand what you mean. Could you elaborate? I also do this a lot and when i request first season, only first season gets monitored and I can request the subsequent seasons whenever I want again.

This behaviour is true until a new season gets added that was not available when you request the series. Sonarr automatically monitors new seasons.

You need a Series which is still ongoing, Do you can confirm that you requested a Series which is ongoing and new seasons does not get monitored without you change settings manually?

If i request just first season, new seasons doesn't get monitored (atleast that's what happens iirc)

Could you check in sonarr which setting do you have when you add a series with jellyseer?
