longintrepr.h not found

pip install blackstone on Mac fails with error "thinc/linalg.cpp:196:12: fatal error: 'longintrepr.h' file not found"

From Google and Stack Overflow, I can see that other packages have had the same problem, but I could find a recommended general fix. It looks like each package worked around it.

Have tried multiple versions of Python.

Is there a way I can get this installed?
