Off-grid usage

Hi All,

Is it possible to configure "home first vehicle second" as opposed to how it is in the GUI today where vehicle is charged first?

I would like to have EVCC effectively in "Off" until my house battery hits the threshold (90%) then start charging the car. This is because I need to get sufficent power in the house that I don't run the generator that night (off-grid).

Currently EVCC starts charging the car as soon as there is enough power when using the Solar option.

As a bonus it wold be good if there was a 5th option. "Min on Solar" where the minimum charge rate was to the car and the remainder solar went to house battery, grid, whatever.

that is, what you have configured. Home first until 90%. If there is additionaly enough power, the car starts charging.
if the behavior is not like this, there may be an error in your configuration

Prefect thank you. I set the values in the GUI to 80% and 90% so I should hope to see this working sooner.

And by the way: TWC3 is not controllable in any way. This should be replaced by a real controllable charger.

Yes I got TWC3 before I knew about all the possibilities :( EVCC seems pretty good at updating the car settings though.

I think this has fixed it. I can't be sure because on Saturday my battery decided it needed to equalise..

But if you see today's graph I plugged in at about 13:30 and the battery level was constant. It even went up in the evening when there was less than 6A being generated for a while.

I will test the battery % threshold this week but given it started to charge before 10 when I unplugged I think we are on a winner.

Adding a const meter of 0 has fixed the issue. EVCC is working perfectly. I recommend adding this to the documentation for all off-grid deployments where no grid exists.

Today I had my first sunny (winters) day with the new configuration.

My solar genration for the day was consistent, you can see at about 11:30 my battery starts charging slower as it passes 75% capacity. Then the generation jumps up from about 12:45 when the battery hits 85%

Battery percentage throughout the day increases to 85% then flatlines for the remainder of the day with the remaining power being consumed by the house or going to the vehicle.

I tried two options thoughout the day

1. Min plus solar when below the threshold (Solar was working, not charging). This way I start slowly charging the vehicle while the house battery continues to charge
   

2. Solar when over the threshold (at this point the battery for the house charges slowly < 2KW) so full power is diverted to the car
