Charging a few more Amps than what sun provide. (Solar+x)

I am looking for a new feature, or a work around if possible, to send a few more Amps to the car.

When my solar panel are producing at their maximum, and my neighbors do the same, the voltage goes UP and as soon as it reach 253V my invertor goes in security mode and I stop producing for 10 minutes with a slow ramp-up.

One way to reduce the voltage level is the charge the car and evcc does that well... but sometimes it is not enough.

I would need to pump electricity from the network and charge my car even more to lower the voltage and avoid losing that solar energy.

For me this is similar to some other request that ask to "never send anything to the network" (basically send 1A more than computed).

The manual way we do that (while keeping EVCC running) is to move from "Solar" to "Min+Solar" and change the "Min. Current." in the Settings. Or go in fast charge but limit the "Max. Current." But of course, this is totally manual, error prone and not following the sun anymore.

I am looking for a way to automate that, but without totally replacing EVCC.
I can monitor the voltage level, and I can try to automate something to do +1 Amps if we reach 252V. Maybe one Amp is not enough, so I have to repeat this process...
And if we go bellow 250V, I can start removing the extra Amps.

Am I the only one with that problem?
Does it require a new feature or do you see a different way to get similar result?

You could use enable and disable thresholds or residualpower.

They can be changed dynamically through the evcc API. So you could e.g. use home assistant, monitor the grid voltages and adjust the values accordingly.

If you do not have a battery, you can set residualpower to a negative value.
That can be changed via api. So you can use an external logic

Thanks to this message, I am using residualpower on the site with a negative value and it give the expected effect.

Now I need to monitor the voltage (I already have that visualized in HomeAssistant) and control what value I want for residualpower. And figure out the easiest way how to control evcc from HomeAssistant with the API.

Also, I need to double check the enable/disable value and it's effect and interaction with residualpower
Despite many efforts in the documentation, that part is always a bit confusing. At least now I visualize the effect of residualpower.

No automation yet, I have to review how to do that in HA.

I only created a HA dashboard with:

• residualpower from the integration
• the critical voltage that I am monitoring
• a power usage visualisation: "Power Flow+"
• an iframe to evcc interface web page (so we can see the nice graphic and the charging level)

So on one page we have all the data we need and a way to modify the residualpower

I think we found the sweet spot of residualpower for very sunny days (-500W).
For less sunny days -250W is the equivalent of giving 1 Amp more and avoiding to send anything back to the network.

Next step is to automate the value of residualpower when charging and if the voltage level goes too high.

I want to expand this request to additional a few Amps less than solar to have a little backup between the regulation intervalls. I think this is also possible with treshholds, but it will be nice at the home screen to handle it easy very dynamic.
