In my solidity contract, I have a uint256 variable named userCount. I want to get its value on the frontend.
I do contractInstance.userCount; but I dony receive a number. I'm using angular on frontend

You can try the following:

const result = await contractInstance.userCount() // this is a promise so it will require use of await
console.log(result) // BigNumber {_hex: '0x01', _isBigNumber: true}
console.log(result.toString()) // "1"

I'm linking some documentation which you may go over if you need help with

1. contractInstance.userCount gives a Promise instead of a direct value. And you can use ES6 .then syntax or ES8 async await syntax for working with them.
2. This is a good place to read more about BigNumber.
