GetAmountsOut calculating tax token

Does the GetAmountsOut includes the token tax?
For example the token I'm about to buy have 10% tax. Does it included on the GetAmountsOut?

I don’t know what contract this is regarding, but it isn’t an issue with ethers, so I’m moving it to discussions.

Please post more info, like what contract you are dealing with, including addresses on mainnet, etc.

You would probably need to look at their GitHub page or community website. Most projects are linked to from their Etherscan page.

But this isn’t really related to ethers, so I don’t know this is the best forum to find the answer you are looking for. :s

Uniswap does not have 10% tax though. UniswapV2 has 0.3% fee (or tax) while UniswapV3 has 0.05%, 0.3% or 1% depending on pool, and this fee is included in the getAmountsOut method that you must be using.

However if the 10% tax you are saying is different than swap fee in uniswap, for that better to ask in the discord/telegram of the token. as Richard already suggested.

@zemse I also had the same doubt. I went through the contract and I found that the function getAmountsOut returns the amounts of token that you will get at the current price ( by dividing the amount of token/ amount of eth ). Also this results takes in consideration of the tax of the Uniswap. But this does not include the tax of the token.

You can do with this step

1. Snapshot your current token balance you will swap for
2. You need to get expected amount of token you swap. You can get it with getAmountsOut function and the result is in index 1 of array. Make sure your path is [tokenInAddress, tokenOutAddress]
3. Swap the token you want after you got your expected amount
4. Get again your current balances after swapping
5. Calculate the actual amounts of token. Do it with balanceAfter - balanceBefore
6. Calculate the tax with (expectedAmounts - actualAmounts) / expectedAmounts * 100

How do you get the expected amount. Is there a way to call the contract or the liquidity pool to get the current expected amount?
