(Error): invalid hash

Was hoping to get some help with an error I haven't seen posted anywhere else yet.
(Error): invalid hash (argument="value", value=undefined, code=INVALID_ARGUMENT, version=providers/5.4.0)
and code snipet

    const [transaction, setTransaction] = useState()
  
    useEffect(function() {
      contract.on("Transfer", async (event) => { 
        const tx = await provider.getTransaction(event.transactionHash)

From what im inferring it seems like the api provider is not able to provide the correct hash im looking for? Which is strange because I had the same function core async function working in node.

The last parameter is an Event object, not the first. So you have to account for those on the stack.

You probably need to use contract.on("Transfer", (from, to, amount, event) => { /* use event here */ })
