No. There is not at current the ability to record video. https://bloggeek.me/recording-webrtc-sessions/ provides the options available. None of which are implemented. If you feel this is of value for you please do create a bounty for the work or reach out to developers to contribute :) Thanks! |
We've thought about this at length for several years. The danger with this is twofold. First, it moves away from the purpose of Etherpad--that is collaboration through the pad, chat, and video. A recording of video would be unconnected from the rest of the experience. Secondly, though, the ability to record video can be extremely problematic legally. Depending on the local, state, and national laws, consent would be near impossible--requiring sometimes one participants consent, sometime everyone's consent, and sometimes disallowing video recording entirely without explicit on-screen, continual warnings that contain specifically mandated text. Additionally, what would be recorded--everyone's video, one person's video? I'm not saying that this is impossible, but there are a lot of considerations that would need to be mitigated through options and consent forms. |
Agree in general but afaik one part has been addressed historically? I think.... |
