• Xtensa CS implementation esp-hal#90 - critical-section implementation for Xtensa (safe on unicore & multicore systems). Still draft as we need critical-section 1.0 for configurable token sizes.
• As part of WIP vectored interrupts: CPU Interrupts xtensa-lx-rt#45

• ADC (uncalibrated read only for now) for ESP32, ESP32-S2, ESP32-C3 (ESP32-S3 currently lacks the SENS peripheral in the SVD)
• functionality to spawn a task on the second core of ESP32 / ESP32-S3
  • unlike the old HAL this uses a Fn so we can more easily pass parameters into the new task
• DAC for ESP32 and ESP32-S2

esp-wifi

• builds again for ESP32 (same changes needed caused by changes in esp-hal)
• created a PR for implementing embedded-svc 0.22.0 - works great for me but not for Jesse .... if anyone else is willing to check it in your environment .... Would be happy to hear about the results

esp-template

• bumped the xtensa-lx-rt dependency to 0.12.0

esp-println

• the ROM function on ESP32-S2 had some issues - replaced it with direct register writes which seems to work fine now
• published a new release (0.2.0) which also includes the optional log-facade implementation

  • Install wokwi-server and web-flash via rust installer, this will use binary packages if available
  • Ignore docs and script folders when not using devcontainers.
  • Install clippy and rustfmt for RustAnalyzer
  • Add .devcontainer.json reference link in documentation
• Add/Update CI
  • esp-template (Include CI esp-template#9): Run clippy, fmt check, and build the project for all the targets using the Dockerfile generated for devcontainer support.
  • esp-idf-template (Add CI to build all the targets esp-idf-template#35): Expanded the CI to build the project for all the targets using the Dockerfile generated for devcontainer support.

Other

• Add serial-monitor subcommand  espflash#205 in espflash and cargo-espflash to allow monitoring a serial monitor without flashing.
• Refactored esp-rs-devcontainer to serve as a template Dockerfile for devcontainer and instructions on how to integrate devcontainers to existing repositories.
• Tried using esp-box display (ILI9342C) with ILI9341 drivers with no luck.
  • I haven't found any rust driver for ILI9342C
  • Investigate the differences between ILI9342C and ILI9341
  • Any ideas/suggestions?

• Implemented a notion of a "blocker"
• Default implementations for all blocking traits on top of the async ones + blocker. Example here.

embedded-svc-impl

• New crate
• Pure Rust, no-std, no-alloc implementations for HTTP client, HTTP server and MQTT client (future)
• Async-first
• Will be possible to use in blocking mode (i.e. with thread-based RTOS like ESP-IDF), due to the new blocking-traits-implemented-on-top-of-async-traits support in embedded-svc
• (Sounds strange but) dependency on embedded-svc] is optional, as the services will have their public non-trait async-only APIs as well

embedded-nal-async

• In progress: (painful) design for a TCP client socket trait. Server socket trait to follow later.
