Voice activation, how does it work?

I can't believe we have voice activation now!

However, I'm not entirely sure if I fully understand how to set it up and how it works.

During initial setup, Whispering appeared to request a keyword to initiate voice activation, which it then recorded and confirmed.

Yet, Whispering seemed to listen continuously afterward, instantly transcribing everything I dictated without even needing the keyword?

Is there a quick guide or a short tutorial on how this feature works and how to properly set it up?
