Tutorial 1 is overly complex

First, I thought this tutorial was extremely helpful. I feel like after working through it I have a much better understanding of what is going on under the hood with the DRF. I especially thought that implementing a Serializer by hand first and then using ModelSerializer cleared up a lot of confusion I had. I think the structure is solid and the level of detail is solid.

I think it could be substantially better if it were less complex. As a teacher, I would recommend simplifying it substantially.

Here are some specific simple suggestions:

• Reduce the number of fields in the "Snippets" model to 2 or 3 from the current 6. No additional functionality of rest_framework is demonstrated for the added complexity and code of additional model fields.
• This tutorial assumes familiarity with Django "forms" to help the reader understand object behavior. I wasn't familiar with django forms when taking this tutorial. I'm still not familiar. These add nothing to the tutorial for me but confusion. These references should be removed or at least augmented with actual explanations for those unfamiliar with forms.

Here are some suggestions that require more work:

• Working with "code snippets" for this tutorial is unnecessarily complex. Switch to making a simple object, like a "car". The goal is to provide an overview of serialization that is understandable to all audiences, not to be cute.
• Get rid of pygments. It's an unnecessary dependency that will increase the chance the tutorial will break or not work as expected in the future.
