Problems with latest version #14

@Addlai

Description

@Addlai

After upgrading to the version from 2025-03-30 some things stopped working. One of these is the following. If you have say
(key-chord-define-global "ii" 'dabbrev-expand)
then pressing "i" followed by "i" in quick succession works initially. However, if you press "i" followed by "i" after too long a delay, it stops working, not just for that invocation (which is expected), but for all future invocations, not matter how short the delay after that point.

The problem with this upgrade was prominent enough, I removed key-chord within a few minutes, and will not be risking reinstalling it for at least a few years, if ever.

I strongly suggest you withdraw this version of key-chord and commit to testing it more extensively. It would be very greatly appreciated by users like me, who strongly favor a conservative approach to Emacs development, to try to curb the fairly overwhelming amount of maintenance overhead. I'd very strongly encourage you to either freeze key-chord permanently (apart from necessary maintenance) at its previous version, or at the least wait at least 5 or 10 years or so before attempting to another upgrade.
