request: matrix room

discord is a centralized, closed platform that requires a phone number in order to create an account.

i was having some issues with elysia earlier and, after seeing that discord was the only way for me to get help, attempted creating an account. this attempt was not successful

i suggest creating a matrix room as an alternative. matrix is a decentralized federated open chat network, anyone can run their own server which communicates with all other servers on the network

there are several bridges that relay messages to/from discord, this would allow people from matrix to communicate with people on discord and vice versa

please consider this. i am willing to sponsor a VPS for hosting the matrix homeserver (hosting your own server is a requirement for the discord bridge)
