@Poker-Alho Regarding copying a file I cannot reproduce you issue on OS7.1 at the moment but could you give more detail?
It should not have anything to do with Flatpak as Files still runs natively, not in a Flatpak. The same version of Files is released on both OS7.1 and OS8.0.1 at the moment. Regarding long names could you explain in more detail what steps you are taking? I do not understand what is meant by "When the names of whole structure becomes too long". Do you mean "when there are too many files being copied" perhaps? |

Greetings,
So, I still use Elementary OS v7.1, and lately I've dealing with a bug it didn't existed until some weeks ago. I think it was probably related with some Flatpak update? I have no idea.
I've installed the v8.0.1 version on a secondary laptop and I'm not capable of replicating the bug. I have to say, though, the v8.0.1 is not updated. It's the clean version without any update on the system. Nothing at all.
So, my bug on the v7.1 is the following: every time I try to copy a file from a folder, instead of the OS to copy the file I want, it copies the whole folder, which is nuts! Imagine I want to copy one picture, the OS starts to transfer the whole folder with gigabytes of information. This happens every time I try to copy something anywhere; it doesn't matter the size of file; instead of the file, copies the folder.
Never happened before.
Is there any complain about this bug or it's only me?
I also noticed another problem: transferring files to folders and sub-folders. When the names of whole structure becomes too long, it’s not possible to copy files for the different sub-folders anymore. I need to change something on the folders name to allow manually transferring the files.
I love Elementary OS, Danielle. It was my port of entrance in Linux and I gave up on Windows since then, but this bug makes my experience horrible. I know it’s probably not related with Elementary per se, but I need a solution.
PS: Recently updated my v8.0.1 with latest updates and it does the same as my v7.1. There's probably some update undermining / causing this.
