Incoming call does only trigger a message notification, the phone does not ring

Steps to reproduce

When a call is initiated, the called person only gets a notification that a call is coming in, like a text message would have been received. The phone does not ring. I tried this with different phones and directions, always using the same version of Element X on Android. Always the same result.

Outcome

What did you expect?

The phone ringing, obviously.

What happened instead?

There was only a notification like a text message was received. A short click-click, or whatever you use for that. One will miss this if one does not coincidentally look at one's phone in this very moment.

Tested on a Samsung Galaxy A33 5G and a Motorola moto g42, in both directions

Operating system version

Android 14 for the Samsung and Android 13 for the Motorola

Application version and app store

Element X 25.05.3 from the Google Play Store on both phones

Only way to get ringing notification is set the different tone for call in 'notification categories' in android settings for Element-X

Okay, that's not very intuitive or end-user friendly … but apart from that: That will only cause the tone set there to be played once, because it's still only a notification? This won't play the tone in a loop, like when then phone rings (or I get e.g. a call via Signal), will it?

I also saw this one, yet, I supposed "EC" and "EXA" meant something different.

I can confirm this (mis-) behavior. Android 14 on different Motorola devices, elementx 25.05.4

"EC" stands for Element Call and "EXA" stands for Element X Android.
