Hello, I would like to propose new features to help combat spam inviting

The following features are the ones that came to mind while thinking on how to avoid spam inviting:

1. Be able to mute specific words or text, so that if a room's name contains them, the invite is automatically denied.
2. Be able to limit the number of invites that I can receive on a given account.
3. Some form of "friend" system or such, with the purpose of allowing only those who are your "friends" to invite you to rooms. Perhaps a condition like "you and this account share a room together already".
4. Be able to deny all invitations in one click.

That about sums it up. This request of mine is in response to a notorious Matrix spammer who spam invites many people from different servers to rooms with CSAM and other types of illegal content. Having to wake up and see 48 invites on an old account is quite tiring.
Finally, sorry if there already is a similar request. None appeared on the search for similar discussions link.

Excellent ideas. I concur that implementing some of these suggestions is essential to reduce or null spam invites.
An invite cap (or a restriction on who can send invites), along with a "reject all" option, would be beneficial.

5. disable invites to rooms (or auto reject by default), with a easy way to "temporary enable invites"
6. auto reject invites timer - so you can set to for example reject invites after 5min, if you expect invite you probably will accept right away

Now it's impossible to join any community (from your main account) because you will be bombarded with spam invites.

I even got 4 invites from the same guy for the same channel O_o

I opened a discussion on this topic and didn't see this one until afterwards, so I'm adding what I posted here instead. The invites are a problem and the mass mentions are another too.

What would you like to do?
Because of the recent increase of people mass @'ing large rooms in order to disrupt them, it would be nice to be able to ignore mentions from messages when more than 5 or 10 people are mentioned at a time.

If more than the number of people are mentioned, it's treated like a regular message and if your settings are set to "Mentions and Keywords only", you would get no notification at all.

Why would you like to do it?
This would help regular users ignore intentionally disruptive people.

How would you like to achieve it?
Maybe by adding a configurable setting in Notifications

Currently when this happens I mute the room and right click the room to mark it as read, but then I need to remember to unmute the room afterwards and since this occurs so frequently it's not an ideal system.
