crouton-simple-dropdown not functional

The python demo code consists of a crouton-simple-dropdown widget. It is displayed on the crouton website, but not functional. If you change a value, nothing happens. It is also not described in the docs. I can imagine that this widget could be really helpful.

I am not sure where the issue is located (crouton or python demo), but the docs are missing for sure.

crouton-simple-dropdown was a widget in the pipelines but I couldn't get the polymer dropdown to work correctly so it still hasn't been finished. From a usage point of view, the dropdown is probably an important widget to have. I haven't gotten a chance to work on it for a while. If you have time, feel free to give it a shot and I will merge it in!
