Note: Most PRs in the nice to have list are approved, but are waiting for the infra to work again, before we merge them

We should try to get #15434 in. It would be the first time in a long while that we're not updating the API to the latest VS Code version and it would be a pity to break the streak.

On the other hand #15523 is not a blocker IMO: we've lived with the old dependency for a long time, why would it be a blocker now?
