Antropic API Key: Please provide OPENAI_API_KEY in preferences or via environment variable

I am trying to enable the AI feature in Theia - but it seems I am not smart enough.
I followed the instructions , created a API key on the anthropic page

I added the key to the anthropic section in the Theia AI Features:

Then I tried some kind of chat - but I always get the message

Please provide OPENAI_API_KEY in preferences or via environment variable

Can someone help me here?

Even if I try to add the api key into the section "Open AI Api Key" I get an error - which seems to be more logical to me

Hi @rsoika,

You also need to configure the agents to actually use the Anthropic model.

Within the Configuration view, you can select the models in two ways:

• For your selected agent, you can directly select a model of your choice (red box).
• However it's often cumbersome to change the models of ALL agents, so you can instead also use aliases (violet). The model for them can be configured in the "Model Aliases" tab

You can select a model for your alias via the red box. If default, it will take the first available model from the blue list. In the violet area, you can see which agents are using the alias.

Please note that model aliases (as described by Stefan) are introduced in 1.64, which is currently available in preview. So you might not see them in your tool yet. They are actually also meant to solve the configuration confusion you have, as they would automatically default to Anthropic as soon as you have entered an API key.
