Hey @icoco,

as the error indicates, you have registered a FrontendApplicationContribution with a @postConstruct() method that returns a Promise. That's not allowed in Theia, and so you get an error. Refactor the contribution to use a sync post construct, and everything should work as expected.

frankly I clone a exist class 'WorkspaceService' from the package "@theia/workspace", which source code file location is the workspace-service.ts

I just rename the class name to others, eg:

export class MyWorkspaceService implements FrontendApplicationContribution, 

but it does not work, throw the topic error message... I am not sure why it not works .

I do the same way, rename it from 'WorkspaceFrontendContribution' to 'MyWorkspaceFrontendContribution' , and load it in the function 'ContainerModule' of the file workspace-frontend-module.ts,

looks I just clone the exist package 'WorkSpace' , rename key classes, it should works in my view, but that throw a confuse errors

well, the error disappeared, I modify some code that looks not relative to the issue, then it not throws the error ., anyway, let it done
