GitHub Copilot Chat Extension in Theia

I noticed that the GitHub Copilot Chat Extension is not open source under MIT license:

Knowing that I wonder if it is planned that a VS Code Chat Extension also works in Theia in the future.

I do not know whether somebody has investigated this in detail yet and it might be a bit early for this. According to the announcements, some parts of the extension will be transferred to VS Code Core over the next months. The Code Completion part seems to not be open sourced yet. It would be for sure nice if the extension would work, but I believe it is currently still tied to VS Code's internal architecture.
