Manually excluding some misc reprints

I've come to notice that certain sections of the 5e Tools database don't mark reprints. For example, the Legendary Group section of the bestiary doesn't seem to have a field to mark something as having been reprinted, so if I include both the MM and XMM as references (which I want to do to specifically catch content that wasn't reprinted), I will only get the XMM version of the Aboleth, but both the MM and XMM versions of the Aboleth's Legendary Group (which just lists lair/regional effects).

This example isn't really an issue as I can put together an exclude pattern to manually omit the duplicates, but it gets more difficult as we get into variant rules and tables. There are a lot of rules/tables that were reprinted in the XDMG from the old DMG, but 5e Tools also doesn't appear to assign reprint flags to these resources, so pretty much all loot tables from both books get included in the output. I could use an exclude pattern like table\\|.*\\|dmg and variantrule\\|.*\\|phb to clear pretty much all of the duplicates, but this will also clear some content that clearly wasn't reprinted (e.g. the Creating Quick Monster Stats; Monster Statistics by Challenge Rating table from the DMG which is conspicuously missing from the XDMG).

My question then becomes: Can I use both an excludePattern and a specific include that may both touch the same resource like the table I just mentioned? Or if I really want a specific table or variant rule, do I have to completely rearrange how I'm pulling content from the old DMG and PHB? And then another tangential question came to mind: If I have the DMG or PHB instead listed under book in my config to pull the full text, but exclude tables from the same book, will the table embeds inside the notes for the book then appear as broken links?

I acknowledge my use case here is getting a little complex. I also didn't think this would fit as a bug report as the lacking bit of functionality seems to be from 5e Tools and how it handles what it does and doesn't mark as reprinted. Any information relevant to my admittedly dubious setup would be greatly appreciated.

It could be that I need to flip these around, and only print those that are referenced. That would avoid printing doubles/extras. This is what I do for subclass and optional features.

By "referenced", do you mean content from any source in the reference section of the config file? Because the issue I'm seeing occurs specifically because I have PHB and DMG listed in that section of my config.

no. that isn't what I mean. I mean.. monsters that are included that pull that in directly.

I think I'm primarily hung up on the variant rules/tables. I don't think 5e tools does a good job of marking reprints for those categories. I was trying to find a way to use excludePattern and include in my config to manually sort the mess but I'm not sure that offers enough flexibility (i.e. I can't have the same content be touched by both).

I could/should also omit tables unless they are referenced by something (which would reduce the number of them).

Ok, then sounds like maybe this would belong in a bug report (or maybe a feature request).
