Search on metadata

Be able to search for host entries based on origin, creation date, modified date, etc.

Biggest problem with this is not the coding but specifying the search in a manner that doesn't suck

E.g. look up linux hosts where their createdate=today
% hostinfo _createdate=today os=linux

But how to specify hosts where the os value was set by a particular script?
% hostinfo os_origin=script
That just seems ugly to me.
