Yay! So glad you were able to get it working with hugo! Great that now blogdown-ers with have this option too 😄
And thanks for documenting how you tweaked the CSS too, I hadn't tried that.

The CSS is still a little mysterious to me. Different than I'm used to with CSS. As with most things, I'll just poke around untill I start getting the idea 😛
