Hi all,

I'm starting this discussion to raise awareness of the upcoming migration to Nimbus OAuth 2.0 SDK:

Using a battle-tested OAuth2 SDK will make the auth manager more robust and specs-compliant.

But it comes with some minor drawbacks:

• The runtime jar size might grow ~ 3x
• We'll lose support for the so-called "Iceberg REST dialect"

Is the above tradeoffs OK for everyone? If not, please reply with your thoughts.

The "Iceberg dialect" is still available to clients by using the auth code bundled with the Iceberg runtime jars, right?

You mean the built-in OAuth2 Auth Manager in iceberg-core? If so, yes!

I suppose, from the client's perspective the decision on which "auth dialect" to use will have to be expressed as using the built-in auth manager, or this auth manager (where previously clients could use this auth manager and configure it to use the Iceberg dialect).
