Non-systemd distro, usable ?

I'm using Void Linux with rununit instead of systemd. Is it possible to use your fan-control software ?
Could you clarify wich part of systemd are required and any substitute possible ?

My laptop is a VivoBook_ASUSLaptop X513UA_M513UA and I have never seen/heard the fan in action even under high load. I suspect your fan-control would be something nice to have.

Yes, if your laptop is supported or you intend to check the support for it, you can use AFC even without systemd.

The systemd functionality you need to substitute is to load acpi_call module and run AFC on boot/wakeup automatically. This is basically what AFC's systemd service tells:

After=hibernate.target suspend-then-hibernate.target

[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStartPre=/sbin/modprobe acpi_call
ExecStart=/usr/local/bin/asus-fan-control
