send_friend_request() help

Hello, I have been trying to get this to work for a while now and have tried just about everything. Is someone able to help?

if member_id:  # Check if the line is not empty
                try:
                    user = await self.fetch_user(int(member_id))
                    print(user)
                    await self.send_friend_request(user)
                    print(f'Sent friend request to {user.name} ({user.id})')
                except discord.NotFound:
                    print(f'User with ID {member_id} not found.')
                except discord.Forbidden:
                    print(f'Cannot send friend request to {user.name} ({user.id}).')
                except Exception as e:
                    print(f'An error occurred: {e}')

I keep getting the error: An error occurred: 400 Bad Request (error code: 50035): Invalid Form Body
In discriminator: int value should be greater than or equal to 1.

If anyone has any ideas, please lmk

You must install the master version for pomelo support. As a workaround here, you can simply use user.send_friend_request()

Thanks for the reply, I just tried this and still running into the same issue

And the output is:

An error occurred: 400 Bad Request (error code: 50035): Invalid Form Body

The issue is it looking for a discriminator when the discriminator is #0 on the new username system.

you can do a workaround and remove the #0 from the username, lmk if this works

                    username = user.name.replace('#0', '')  # Remove #0 from the username
                    print(user)
                    await user.send_friend_request()
                    print(f'Sent friend request to {username} ({user.id})')

                except discord.Forbidden:
                    print(f'Cannot send friend request to {username} ({user.id}).')
                except Exception as e:
                    print(f'An error occurred: {e}')
