How to get the text in a tab for xkcd?

I monitor xkcd for new content (and explainxkcd as well, cause I am dumb). In the last xkcd, this is what I see as the title in a chrome tab:

How can I retrieve it to send in a notification? (in my case - nfty). I tried both {{watch_title}} and {{watch_url}} but they both report generic information (respectively xkcd and https://www.xkcd.com).

Is the "Extract <title> from document and use as watch title" option turned on?

The "text in a tab" is known as the "page title"

I dont understand, now you're not being clear about

• the page title
• what the change trigger would be
• what you want exactly in the notification

If you want the change trigger to be based on just the title, then use what is already in the help as the filter

What I mean is that the detection itself works great. I get an alert when the page changes. My comment was simply that the tile changes in tandem with the content, so it could serve as an independent trigger.
I should not have added that as it just obscures my point, sorry.

My actual point: I hoped that Extract <title> from document and use as watch title would extract the tag <title> from the page and put it into {{watch_title}}. In the source of the xkcd page, you have

<title>xkcd: Dimensional Lumber Tape Measure</title>

but in the alert {{watch_title}} is xkcd

Yup so please try what i wrote above as the filter, it will change when the page changes, the watch_title isnt always updating

then use the {{diff_full}} if you like also
