The mission of [http://nlxgroup.di.fc.ul.pt/ NLX - Natural Language and Speech Group] of the [http://www.di.fc.ul.pt Department of Informatics, Faculty of Sciences] is to undertake research on Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence, with special focus on Speech and Natural Language Processing. It ensures the participation of the [http://www.ul.pt University of Lisbon] in DELPH-IN.

The University of Lisbon is commited to the participation in DELPH-IN by undertaking the development of a range of resources for the deep linguistic processing of the Portuguese language, under the direction of [http://www.di.fc.ul.pt/~ahb António Branco].

This development of resources for Portuguese is supported by the Portuguese Government, [http://www.mces.pt/ MCTES - Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Ensino Superior], via de [http://www.fct.mctes.pt/ FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia], under the contract PLUS/PLP/50301/2003.
