ACE wishlist

These are some features that ACE does not support properly, but some people think it should. WoodleyPackard intends to consult this page to gauge user priorities when making improvements, so please add comments if you have an interest in seeing some particular feature supported in ACE (estimated priorities are in parentheses).

• Easier access to ACE's quickcheck skeleton generator (low)

• Full support for the transfer formalism (medium)

  • Support for VPM at each end of a transfer grammar

• More complete LUI support, e.g. chart browser, MRS browser (???)

• Time profiling for generation (medium)

• Support for a transfer phase applied to MRSes after parsing/generation (medium ; requested by BertholdCrysmann)

• Support for a token mapping phase applied after generation (medium ; largely implemented now ; requested by BertholdCrysmann)

• Support for flow control (iteration on groups) in chart mapping (??? ; largely implemented now; requested by BertholdCrysmann)

• Report errors during grammar loading: no REPP, no semantic index (current behavior: crash) (high) (fixed?)

• More complete YY mode support:

  • multiple POS tags, with probabilities (???)
  • rule chain specification (???)

• Support for outputing [incr tsdb()] profiles, perhaps for a given relations file (???; requested by MichaelGoodman)

• Timeouts for parsing/generation (???; requested by DanFlickinger, added by MichaelGoodman)

• Generate unknown names
