export format not giving proper result

this haystack annotation tool is not working properly when i am exporting the data it is annotating the data that i annotated instead it change the starting point which make it the wrong annotation , on the front end it shows correct annotation but after checking the export format it is showing this


Please help in this

Hey @i-Anshal - I saw your message on Discord too and started answering there but posting here just in case you missed it. Could you tell us what browser you're doing this on and how long a document can get?

Hii @TuanaCelik - I am using Google Chrome and the document may vary in length but on average, it is 700-800 words I also added a standard question and then tag it and the problem continues.

Here's is my guess as to what is going on. Followed by a recommendation of how you can fix this for your project. Look at the recording below and notice a few things:

1. If you add a question via the 'questions' tab -> you are adding a 'global' question that you can access through every document
2. This is where ti gets tricky, and I think this is where things might have started to come up as garbage for you: When you go back to a document and happen to click a question, whatever you highlight immediately after having selected that question becomes the 'answer' to that question. Which is tricky especially if multiple people are editing (or did previously) and highlighted somewhere random while reading not having noticed that they're highlighting an answer. This is where the UI isn't great at giving you feedback.
3. If you have global questions like this and have answers to it in multiple documents, it's normal to get duplicates. The 'duplicates' are the answers to that questions across multiple documents

My suggestion to you:
If you need answers to the same question across multiple files, create the global question in the Questions tab.
Then go back to the document but pay attention when you select the question that the next thing you are highlighting is complete and correct.
To fix what you already have, simply going to the document, selecting the question that looks off and immediately after it highlighting the answer span should correct your label!

Thread update: @i-Anshal Let us know that the issue still persists in Discord. I've asked to see if we can have some files that would help us reproduce this behaviour. And we will open up a bug report if needed accordingly.
