symplot or other y axis scaling

Some plottings offer symplot, which is basically a log plot, but with negative numbers working. Or sometimes you want you own y axis scaling. I have a water boiler, normally it looses -0.3°/h, when it is heated of course we can can have +8°C/h, but only a short time.
