It's working perfectly. Top is the old config, bottom the new.
Now I'm able to go back in history for an infinite time as it will show the long term statistics with a 1h interval. During the recorder period it shows the statistics with a 5minute interval. So even during the recording period I'm using statistics instead of the normal entity values.

es hat mich heute >1 Stunde gekostet um das zum laufen zu bringen...trotzdem 1000 Dank:

es hat eine Zeile gefehlt um die Daten wirklich aus der statistic zu nehmen:
- entity: sensor.gesamtverbrauch_heute
statistic: state
period: hour

ich hoffe das hilft evtl. dem Nächsten:-)

ich muss mich korrigieren...
Die Kombination Statistic und Recorder funktioniert solang, bis der letzte Punkt der genauen Werte (bei mir 61 Tage) rechts aus dem Fenster verschwindet. wenn ich weiter in die Vergangenheit scrolle- bleibt der Graph weiß.
Dabei ist es unabhängig vom Zoom- also egal ob 1 Std, 1 Tag, Woche oder Monat dargestellt werden.
Habe schon alles auf eine entity reduziert, jeglichen schnickschnack entfernt
