console.conf ACTIVE_CONSOLES and ly

Trying to set up ly with dinit.

/etc/dinit.d/config/console.conf:

# Currently available: /dev/ttyl until /dev/tty6`
ACTIVE_CONSOLES="/dev/tty[1-6]"

Can dinit only use 1-6, not 7, 8, ...?

How can I reserve only tty2 for ly?
Will "/dev/tty[1,3-6]" work?

These are not questions about Dinit, they are about your distribution and the ly software. You should ask on appropriate forums.

Dinit doesn't itself "use" ttys at all, other than the single one it outputs on (via /dev/console). It has no restrictions on running a getty process for any terminal. That console.conf file is provided by your distribution, it isn't part of Dinit.

I'm on Artix, I thought this was an appropriate place since it was under /etc/dinit.d/ don't really know how to distinguish. Anyway, for people with similar issue, I found this post on Artix's forum where you participated in discussion.

As a guideline, if it is not covered by the Dinit documentation then it is probably not part of Dinit.
