Hi Dave,

I tried to update towards 12.1.1 but again problems.

i followed above mentioned steps. no result.
i have a log file see attachment

Did you try:

deleting the integration,
deleting the visonic directory (it might be better to delete it from within HACS),
restart HA,
installing 0.12.1.0 from HACS,
change your HA logger settings like [this](https://github.com/davesmeghead/visonic/wiki#logger-settings) on the wiki
and then restarting HA again?
set up the integration

If it doesn’t work properly then please provide a debug log file (not the diagnostics) here and I’ll take a look. If you want to create a new issue on Github then go for it, put the log file in there as it’ll be easier (as it allows you to drag and drop log files and zip files straight in).

Hi, I've looked at your log file and the integration does not receive any data from the panel, literally not a single byte. It does make the TCP/IP connection to the device you have though, are you sure that it's wired correctly in your panel?

The usb connection worked perfect until the update towards 12.1.1, i go back to 9.9.9 en see if it still works.

Sorry yes, it makes the USB connection and not Ethernet.

What panel do you have? As it doesn't get the panel details I don't know what panel you have.
If it's a PowerMaster then it could have flicked across to 38400 baud rate instead of 9600.

Hi Dave, I have a powermax + panel with an usb connection. I restored the version to 0.9.9.9 and everything is normal again.
I have no idea what the reason for the malfunction version 0.12.1.1 is. If you have a idea please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I've setup my test panel with a USB connection and it works OK so I'm not sure what's wrong with yours. Anyway, I've added a few more debug statements in the build in the following zip file. Are you able to unzip these files in to the visonic directory and restart HA to capture another log file?

It doesn't matter, replacing all files in the visonic directory with the zip file content. It will actually show version 0.12.1.2 after you replace all files with the content of the zip.

Hi Dave,
step 1: I placed the files in the zip file in the visonic directory (override) version 0.9.9.9.
step 2: in the configuration.yaml logging enabled.
step 3 Reboot.
step 4: After reboot finalized, log file as attachted.

After reboot everything not ok, again I miss:

Arm home or away see (attachment)

An new version of the "Alarm Visonic 1" is available, i replaced it with the old one.

Now everything looks normal.

Hi,
In your first image, showing 4 Visonic Alarm entities, the 2nd one is the only valid Entity "Visonic Alarm 1" with the shield and the line through it. The other 3 entities are either undefined or invalid as they are greyed out, you need to go to the entities panel and delete them from within Home Assistant.

This is correct, and your log file supports this. The log file shows a single Alarm Panel Entity being created called "Visonic Alarm 1".

The log file shows everything working as it should, is there a problem that I'm missing?

I seem to have the same problem. I tried:

1. Simply upgraded "in place"
2. Brand new install and same steps as with 0.9.9.9 version to configure connection to my Powermax

In both cases it doesn't work after upgrading, but it does work again as soon as I downgrade to 0.9.9.9

I have a Powermax Pro which I can access using USB (serial) passthrough on a VMware ESXi host. I can access the USB port on both a Windows VM (for Powermaster and previously other Home Automation tools) and from HASS on a HASS OS VM.

Hope you can identify from the logging what is wrong?

I'm not sure what you mean, your "home-assistant BAD" log file show that it's working (although it would have been better if you had commented out the debug for the other components and automations in your logfile settings in configuration.yaml so I just got the visonic integration entries).
It gets to Standard Plus emulation mode, waiting for the panel to send either an enrol message or an I'm alive message, in which case the integration goes to PowerLink emulation mode.
On your panel, using the menus for the powerlink, disable it and then enable it again, this should trigger the panel.

Thanks Dave, I'll try that. The panel just remained unavailable in the BAD version. If it still doesn't work I'll also disable the other debug lines 👍

It should be available in Standard Plus emulation mode. Have you looked in developer tools and filtered on visonic. You should only have a single Alarm Panel entity
