Cannot get OpenTelemetry ingestion to work with python

Using 2025.2.14199 docker version, but also tried the windows version. UI works but ingestion returns 404
Tried manually calling POST http://localhost:5341/ingest/oltp/v1/traces and got

HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found

Also tried the 80 port. Slightly different answer but still 404. No API key was set
Using the python sample from https://datalust.co/docs/tracing-from-python and also getting 404
What am i doing wrong?
