In the past year or so, the maintainer community has been working on two big-ish updates relevant to our lesson. There hasn't been a dedicated space to discuss how these updates could impact our lesson, so these are notes that I've gathered from monthly maintainer meetings, blogposts, and the occasional email.
Moving the lesson to Crowdin
Crowdin is the translation platform that's used in Carpentries translated lessons. Spanish lessons were translated "manually" before Crowdin was implemented. It would be great to manage all translated lessons in the same platform.
A few maintainers from Spanish lessons met with Toby back in February for a short training session on Crowdin workflows. I joined to get a sense of the anticipated workload, if we decide to go ahead with the transfer.
In practice, the transfer would require re-doing translations, and it's definitely a community effort.
Maintainers from Python for Ecology lesson in English have been discussing if/how to sync the lessons, so a similar discussion might be relevant for our lesson.
It's not clear to me if this update should happen after Crowdin transfer or at the same time, that is, directly translating the updated curriculum rather than the current one.
As maintainers, our roles wouldn't necessarily be implementing these changes, but maybe inviting community members to help, coordinating workflows, and then reviewing PRs, etc.

Curriculum update.
